June has arrived & the hot days of summer aren’t far behind. It stayed cool here longer than usual, but it’s starting to get hot during the day & stay hot well into the evening. While I’m a cool weather fan, dressing up in the summer is so much more fun because you can throw on a slinky little dress & go, without having to hid your style under so many layers. The warmer summer nights mean that it’s appropriate to show a little more skin in sundresses, tanks, & shorter skirts to beat the heat. Today I’m excited to be teaming up with Tobi.com to share three new summer date looks for any occasion!
How sweet & flirty is this off the shoulder, ruffle dress?!? A LBD is always a classic & I have been wearing this one non-stop since it arrived. For a casual dinner date, I added some on-trend, lace-up sandals, a lariat necklace, & a turquoise clutch for a pop or color. You could also pair it with heels & some sparkly jewelry for a dinner date or sandals & a denim jacket for a concert. This dress really is so versatile that I’ll be wearing it all summer. The fabric is lightweight & breathable, the cut is flattering, & my favorite part is that the sleeves are separate from the dress, so I don’t spend all night pulling at the neckline like I do with so many OTS styles!
So I’ve been avoiding the romper trend, convinced that they were not for me. Then Tobi sent this little grey skort romper & I was sold! I love that the overlay of fabric in the front & back means it’s sort of a dress, sort of a romper – it’s the perfect way to ease into the trend. The light grey color is really going to make a summer tan pop. Plus, it has pockets & you guys know I’m a sucker for pockets! For a dinner & live music date over the weekend I added a sparkly choker & earrings, along with sky high heels, to keep the look from being too casual. I could also see myself throwing on a leather jacket & some booties for a more edgy look.
Finally, this LBR (little black romper) is the seriously sexy option of the group. I don’t usually show this much skin & there was definitely some double sided tape involved, but I was surprised by how confident & sultry I felt wearing it! The deep v neck & open back make quite the statement coming & going! The fit is so figure flattering – the deep v & fitted waist accentuate your curves, which is perfect for someone like me that doesn’t have many! Since the romper itself is so statement making, I kept the jewelry simple – gold earrings & a stack of bracelets. Minimal sandals & a bright pink clutch completed the look for a friend’s birthday celebration. It’s safe to say that I’m now on a romper fan!
