How are we already a week into 2019? The first part of a new year is always time to look back at the previous year & look forward to the year ahead. It’s a time of fresh starts & clean slates. I’ve spent some time over the last week reflecting on what 2018 brought & thinking about what I want to accomplish in the upcoming year. Today I’m excited to share my reflections on 2018 & my goals for 2019 with you!CONTINUE READING
Happy Friday! I can’t believe that Christmas is only 11 days away! I am horribly unprepared this year. I have just begun shopping, nothing is wrapped yet, & we have holiday parties almost every night. I only managed to get the inside of the house decorated, the outside decorations & lights are still in boxes in the living room. Does anyone else have years where nothing seems to come together? This is my favorite time of year & I’ve decided to just embrace the chaos & enjoy the time with friends, family, & co-workers.
We had our annual Rotary Holiday Potluck this week & I made my mother’s pumpkin bread for it. Pumpkin bread was a holiday staple around my house when I was growing up & I still love it when my mom makes a few extra loaves for me. This recipe easy to make (if I can make it, anyone can), travels well, & is always a hit at parties. You can’t beat that for a holiday recipe!
I’m back on this lovely Wednesday with another round of book reviews! The cold temps make me want to curl up in front of the fire with a good book! This time, I’ve added in a star system to give you an idea of how the books rank compared to each other. There were some really great reads in this group (Children of Blood & Bone) & a few really not-great reads (A Simple Favor, I’m looking at you). I’ve been reading a ton lately (some amazing thrillers!), so I’m already working on the next set of reviews. If you want to keep up with what I’m reading in between these reviews, you can follow me on Goodreads! As always, I’m on the lookout for suggestions, so please leave them in the comments!
Happy Friday friends! I wanted to pop in quickly today & share the beauty products that I’ve been loving lately. These beauty favorites are my go-to, use everyday, holy grail items! Plus, Sephora‘s Holiday Bonus VIB Beauty Insider event starts today, so a lot of these items are on sale! All Sephora Beauty Insiders get 15% off with the code BIBONUS. Don’t worry if you aren’t a Beauty Insider, you can still join here & enjoy the sale!
I love, love, love a good podcast! I rarely listen to music in the car anymore because there are so many great podcasts out there. It’s a wonderful way to keep up to date on the news or pop culture, learn something, be inspired, or just laugh. My taste in podcasts ranges from reality tv breakdowns to true crime. Here are some of my favorite podcasts to listen to while I’m driving, working, or working out.
We made it to Friday y’all! How was your week? This past week was fairly calm, which was nice after both Patrick & I had been sick recently. I had an Inn of Court (lawyer thing) presentation yesterday during lunch that went very well. Then our Rotary Club spent yesterday evening eating pizza & playing board games with a group of kids at a local Friendship House. We had a blast before the kids headed out to catch a Thursday night football game between big local rivals. Patrick’s birthday is next week, so we’re going to spend a lot of the weekend celebrating with friend & family! I’m looking forward to the start of October! It’s going to be a full month – Patrick’s birthday, a big surprise here, & another cruise with our families.
