I am always looking for ways to spruce up the outdoor areas of our house because we spend so much time outdoors during the spring & summer. I found this floral lantern project on pinterest & have been dying to put one together for my patio table.
This project is super easy & I’ve gotten a ton of compliments on it so far! Here’s what you need:
Medium sized terra-cotta pot
Small terra-cotta or plastic pot
Potting soil
Pebbles
Flowers of your choice (I used petunias)
Candle
Glass hurricane lamp globe
Start by adding some potting soil to the medium terra-cotta pot. It should be full enough so that the rim of the smaller pot, when placed inside the larger pot, is level with the rim of the larger pot.
Fill the smaller pot with pebbles or rocks. Then fill in the space between the pots with additional potting soil.
Plant flowers in the space between the two pots. I used petunias because I love the way they will spill over the sides. The candle will be placed in the center of the pebbles. Slide the glass hurricane globe over the candles, the pebbles should hold it in place. The glass will protect the flowers from the flame & protect the flame from wind. Voila! You have an easy & inexpensive centerpiece for an outdoor table!
