Hello friends! Like many of us, I used the time in quarantine to let me skin & hair breathe since I wasn’t getting dressed up most days. But, I also used the time to try out some new makeup products. Today, I wanted to share the ones that I’m making part of my regular routine.
Tarte Face Tape Foundation. I’ve been using Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer for years (raved about it here), but I find myself constantly changing foundations. During Tarte’s recent sale, I decided to give their Face Tape Foundation a go & I love it! The Foundation comes in 50 shades, I wear “Fair-Light Neutral (16N),” so it’s super easy to find a good match. It’s full-coverage & long-wearing. I use 1-2 pumps for my whole face in the morning, & it wears all day. It covers everything, so I’m not using as much concealer as I used to.
Physician’s Formula Murumuru Butter Blush. I am a ride-or-die fan of NARS blush in Orgasm, but I recently received PF’s Butter Blush in “Natural Glow” to try. The color gives a sheer, natural, peachy glow, without being too bright or overwhelming. It contains Murumuru Butter, so it’s a combo between a cream blush & a powder blush. It comes with a sponge applicator, but I’ve been using my regular blush brush with no problems. I find myself reaching for it on days that I’m not wearing heavy makeup.
L’Oreal Bambi Eye Mascara. This mascara is supposed to help achieve a “doe-eyed effect.” I’m not sure if it does that exactly, but I do love the length & volume that I get from it. Volume with no length is a problem I have with lots of expensive mascaras, so this has the best of both worlds. I’ve seen it compared with Benefit’s Roller Lash, as the brush also helps add curl. I’ve traded in my long-time fave mascara for this one & it’s my daily, go-to now.
Revlon Super Lustrous Melting Glass Shine Lipstick. Move over Baddest Beige, I have found my new nude lipstick/gloss obsession! Revlon’s new formula is hydrating & gives a gorgeous, glossy sheen without the need for a separate gloss. I love that it’s creamy, doesn’t bleed, & is so shiny! The shade “Nude Illuminator” is a great every-day shade for me & is a steal at only $10!
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick. I also received “Cherries in the Snow” in Revlon’s standard formula. The shade is more of a pinky/blue-hued red than a classic, true red, but it looks so pretty on! It’s highly pigmented, is long-lasting, & has a nice creamy texture.
Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol 1. I have rarely met an eyeshadow palette that I didn’t “need” to have. Tati Westbrook’s debut is 6 shades in 4 textures/finishes each, for 24 gorgeous options. I was a little skeptical of the orangey (Story) & pink/red (poet) shades, but they are so beautiful & surprisingly versatile. The finishes of each shade are exactly what the name implies, & the shades are pigmented for buildable color. I also love that it has a mirror, something missing from so many palettes. I could seriously go on a vacation & bring this palette as my only eyeshadow, & be able to create any look that I wanted to.
