Good morning friends! I have really enjoyed working from home over the past few months, but it took me a little while to get in the groove of having my house be both my home & my office. Creating a designated office area to work from definitely helped, as well as getting into a set morning routine. Having a good morning routine helps set the tone for the day. I love reading about what other people do to set themselves up for a successful today, so I wanted to share what I have implemented for myself.
P.S. My lounge wear set is by Vici. The pants are sold out, but the sweatshirt is still available in limited sizes. I’m sharing some similar ones that are in stock below!

Devotional.
I have never been great at meditating or journaling, even though they are both great ways to center yourself & reduce stress. Instead of journaling or meditating in the morning, I spend a few minutes with a devotional. Katy, over at Mumu & Macaroons, recommended Jesus Calling. I like that it provides something to focus on for the day, with accompanying scriptures, so I’m not just sitting in silence.
Clear Inbox.
Having a full inbox stresses me out, always has, so I’ve started clearing out my inbox first thing in the morning. This doesn’t mean that I don’t have emails to respond to. What it does mean is that I sort my emails into categories that I learned from Kate Waldo Jones – action items that need a response, need to know, & to be filed. It helps reduce the stress of approaching the day overloaded with information.

Make Bed.
I was expected to make my med everyday growing up, but got out of the habit once I was on my own. Now that I’m spending more time than ever at home, I’ve started making the bed in the morning. I feel like I’ve accomplished something before I even leave the bedroom & it makes the bedroom look so much more put together.
Drink Water & Take Vitamins.
We all know the benefits of starting your day with a glass of water. I’m not much of a water-drinker, but I’m trying to give up soft drinks so starting the day with water kicks starts that. It also helps me feel more alert if I get hydrated before my morning coffee. I’ve also started taking daily vitamins – a prenatal, a fish oil, & magnesium. I love Care/of vitamins because they come in a convenient package with everything you need for the day.

Skincare
I shared my entire skincare routine last spring (here), & my morning skincare routine hasn’t changed much. I recently switched out my toner for the Elemis Balancing Lavender Toner & am loving it so far. I also added the Elemis Peptide Recovery Eye Cream to both my morning & evening routines.
