I was looking back on older posts the other day & realized that I had never rounded up my favorite fragrances. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not very adventurous when it comes to scents, but there are 4 that I tend to rotate through depending on mood or time of year.
At the recommendation of Laura Beverlin, I tried Lancome Idole last fall & fell in love! Idole is a classic floral scent, “with notes of citrus, rose, jasmine, white musk, and vanilla.” I like it because it’s light, fresh, & not overly floral scent for everyday. My mother got me the gift set for Christmas, so I now have the full-size bottle & a little rollerball that’s perfect for travel!
Chanel No. 5 may be the most iconic, classic perfume around, but I always felt it was a little too “heavy” for me. When Chanel released N°5 L’EAU, I had to try the cleaner, lighter version. It still has the classic floral base, but with lighter notes of Citrus, Mandarin, & Ylang-Ylang. It is hands-down my favorite, go-to scent.
Until I discovered N°5 L’EAU, Chanel Chance was my go-to fragrance for the longest time. It was the only scent I wore for years & had really become my signature. It’s Chanel’s more modern, sophisticated scent, with Jasmine, Pink Pepper, Patchouli. It’s definitely a warmer, more earthy scent than the others on this list, but it’s not over-bearing on me.
I received the Aerin Waterlilly Sun scent in a PR package years ago & was surprised by how much I liked it, since I’m usually stuck in a rut when it comes to fragrances. It’s a really bright, light, floral scent with Bergamot & Jasmine. I typically wear it in the spring & summer when I want a more floral scent.
