Welcome 2020! A new year & a new decade is upon us, & I can’t lie – it’s got me all in my feelings over here. The year that Patrick & I started dating, 2011, I started collecting photographs & began making an annual photo album. Over the holidays, we went back through all 8 of them & it was so amazing to have all of the memories in such an accessible format. It really got me thinking about how far my life has come over the last decade & today I wanted to share a little bit of that.
Over the last 10 years, I have…

Graduated from law school & passed the bar exam. Law school was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done, from the actual classes to being away from home for the first time, but I have zero regrets. It honestly doesn’t seem like graduation was 10 years ago. Also, I was blonde, like really blonde, lol.

Turned 30. And celebrated with the most amazing group of friends! I am so lucky to have still have them in my life 8 years later. I’m now approaching 40, which is somehow much more scary to me than 30 was.

Served as Justinian Duchess XX. One of the most fun experiences of the last decade. I made some amazing friends, had a blast representing the Krewe, & kicked off my continuing involvement in the organization.

Traveled to Austin, Baton Rouge, California, Cozumel, Dallas, Detroit, Ft. Walton Beach, Honduras, Jackson, Jamaica, New Orleans & North Dakota.

Gotten married. Hands down the best thing that happened to me in the last decade was meeting Patrick & getting married!
I also moved back to my hometown, held 3 jobs, bought a house, been recognized as a Shreveport/Bossier 40 Under 40 young professional, welcomed a godson, started this blog, made some pretty amazing new friends, seen Taylor Swift in concert 4 times, been to almost a dozen LSU games, read approximately 500 books, served on the board of several non-profits, & served as an advisor for collegiate chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha. The time has just flown by, but when I look back, so much has changed over the last decade & I can’t wait to see what the next decade brings!
