You all know that I’m a huge fan of long cardigans for fall, but with temperatures still in the 80’s & 90’s here, it’s just not feasible to start rotating in all of my comfy, cozy sweaters yet. But fall is my favorite season & I just can’t wait to start transitioning my summer wardrobe toward the darker colors & layered looks! Enter the duster length vest!
The long vest is one of the most basic pieces to start transitioning your closet to fall & today I wanted to show you an easy way to style a casual-chic long vest look. It gives the layered look you’re going for, without the heavy weight of a full sweater, jacket, or blanket scarf. Because of the length of the vest, you want to keep the lines of rest of your look clean & simple. As the temps begin to drop, simply add a heavier weight top & a scarf. Easy-peasy!
I picked up this cashmere vest during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but I’ve linked up lots of less expensive options below. To keep the look clean & classic, I paired it with my favorite skinny jeans & a lightweight white top. I finished the look off with stiletto booties & a satchel in a matching color. Other ideas: A monochrome look, with a contrasting neutral vest (think white underneath with a tan vest) looks expensive, but can be found at almost any price point. Or try a patterned dress with a vest & cowboy-vibe booties. Stay tuned because next week, I’ll show you how you can make the same long vest work-appropriate!
