Happy Wednesday friends! It’s a cold & wet day here in Louisiana! Weather like this makes me want to curl up in PJ’s with a good book & a hot cup of coffee, anyone else? It’s also a short work week, which I could definitely use after a busy weekend. I’m hoping to spend my Friday off catching up around the house & getting my home office organized, it’s a disaster area right now! Do you have any big plans for the holiday weekend?
I don’t wear real leather & don’t typically purchase faux leather because high-quality faux leather can be expensive. I picked up this faux-leather pleated mini skirt from J. Crew during one of their online sales & am so impressed with the quality at this price point. The accordion pleats are so flattering & I love the way they move when I walk! I love a skirt that makes me want to twirl! It’s also such a versatile fall/winter wardrobe staple, I’m not sure how I’ve managed this long without one. For reference, I’m 5’5″ & this skirt hits an inch or two above my knees, making it totally work appropriate for me. It also comes in a midi length.
I’ve been wearing the skirt with lightweight tops, like my wardrobe-staple tunic, & heels while the weather is still adjusting. But there are so many other ways to style this skirt, so expect to see a lot of it this fall & winter! I’m planning on pairing it with sweaters & OTK boots, a button down & blazer, strappy sandals & a sparkly top, the possibilities have me positively giddy!
On a side note, these Christian Louboutin heels are one of my largest splurges to date. I’d been eying them for years, but couldn’t quite bring myself to take the plunge. Then I saw this pair on The RealReal at a great price & decided to stop waiting. At nearly 5″ with no platform & low-cut vamp, they add a little sexy to any look. I am so happy with my purchase &, as always, with The RealReal. Click here to get $25 off your first purchase!
