We made it to Friday y’all! How was your week? This past week was fairly calm, which was nice after both Patrick & I had been sick recently. I had an Inn of Court (lawyer thing) presentation yesterday during lunch that went very well. Then our Rotary Club spent yesterday evening eating pizza & playing board games with a group of kids at a local Friendship House. We had a blast before the kids headed out to catch a Thursday night football game between big local rivals. Patrick’s birthday is next week, so we’re going to spend a lot of the weekend celebrating with friend & family! I’m looking forward to the start of October! It’s going to be a full month – Patrick’s birthday, a big surprise here, & another cruise with our families.

Happy Friday the 13th! I’m not really superstitious, but I’ll admit that I took a little pause this morning when I checked the calendar. Have you shopped the NSale yet? I’ve stocked up on layering pieces, cardigans, & some fall shoes so far. Check out yesterday’s post to see what was in my cart & what’s on my wishlist, or keep track of what’s hot on my #NSale page. Is anyone else excited for the weekend? It’s been a long few weeks. Work has been busy & I’ve spent my nights trying to recover from the workday, so everything else has fallen by the wayside. I’m hoping to have a GSD (“get sh*t done”) day tomorrow & catch up.

TGIF friends! This is not my current view, but oh how I wish it were! I’m in my office today, not on a beach in Honduras. It’s been a long & busy work week, without time for much else. On the bright side, we booked another cruise for October & this time our families are joining us! We’ll be exploring some of the same places, but also some new places. Tonight I’m off to celebrate a friend’s birthday with a fish fry, then spend a quiet rest of the weekend at home. I’m hoping to get some of the clutter straightened up, catch up on some blog work, start putting together a website that I’m designing (my first, eek!), & get caught up on some work for my day job. Have a great weekend!

TGIF friends! We had a great weekend in Dallas last weekend! I love that Dallas is so close to home & we try to get over there every few months. On Friday night we had dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant there, Avanti, then had some Mexican for brunch on Saturday. Saturday night was the Empower dinner, hosted by Elise Woods, of Prim and Lovely, & Amanda Smith. It was an amazing event, with some truly inspiring women, beautiful flowers & table settings, & great food. One of my favorite parts of blogging has been getting to know other women who also want to support, empower, & inspire each other, rather than just compete. We also got to hang out with an old friend who recently moved to Dallas & it was wonderful to see him. This week went by in a flash, even though we didn’t have much going on after work. We’re gearing up for a vacation in a little over a week, so I’ve been working hard to get everything handled at the office & home so that I can unplug on our trip. This weekend, I’m hoping to get ahead on some work & start packing!

Good morning & Happy Good Friday lovelies! It was a short work week for me since I’m off today. While I love a 3 day weekend, it’s always hard cramming a full work week into 4 days. This week was a little easier since we didn’t have a lot to do after work, so I got to recuperate from a really busy weekend. We had our Rotary Club’s Doughnut Dash 5K on Saturday morning & it was huge success. Everyone had a great time raising money for the MLK Health Center & Pharmacy, eating doughnuts, & drinking some great Red River beer! After a quick nap, we headed out to a surprise crawfish boil for my bestie’s FIL. I have no idea how we managed to keep it a secret from him! We don’t have big plans this weekend, so I’m looking forward to checking some things off the to-do list & relaxing! For those that have been keeping up with the saga of the abandoned cats, both Little White Cat & Fluffy Brown Cat have made it to their new home. I already miss them, but my Cat was not happy having them in the house, so it was best for them to go to a new home.

Good morning & TGIF friends! I apologize that it’s been awhile since our last check-in here. Things have been crazy busy around here! The first weekend in March was busy with the first annual Peppy Awards, where we awarded kids, animals, & adults who are working to end animal abuse. Last weekend we celebrated the end of the Mardi Gras season with our Krewe’s annual wrap-up party on Friday night. Patrick & I were judges for the ribs portion of the Ark-La-Tex Craft Beer & BBQ Festival on Saturday, then I headed to the annual Miracles on the Red Gala with my girlfriends to help raise money for St. Jude’s. It was an amazing night celebrating No-Mo-Chemo for some really special little girls, including my bestie’s daughter. Between all of those activities & being extremely busy at work, I was sick by Sunday & stayed in bed all day Sunday & Monday. Cat is also sick with a respiratory infection, so his outdoor privileges have been revoked & he’s on several medications (#notahappycamper). It’s going to be a long weekend…

It’s Friday again! How was everyone’s week? Was it a short one or did you have to work on Monday? It was a regular work week for me. It was also a super rainy week here. While I’m loving the unseasonable warm weather, is anybody else getting tired of these early spring-ish showers? I could use a little Vitamin D over here! Spring in Louisiana means rain, but it also means crawfish season & I’m looking forward to enjoying some of the little crustaceans this weekend! I’m also looking forward to getting my hair done on Sunday afternoon & getting some fresh color on these roots. Other than that, I have some exciting collaborations & giveaways coming up here that I’m hoping to get a head start on. Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday friends! I got out of the habit of this weekly post, but realized that I missed popping in for a quick chat/life update & sharing some of my favorites from the week. So, I am bringing back Friday’s See It, Love It, Want It! This will be a round up of some the great reads that I’ve found online, things that I’m loving, & what’s on my must-have list, combined with a quick catch-up chat!

See It. Just because the temperatures are dropping doesn’t mean that you have to give up your favorite summer cocktails. Everyone knows my love of sangria. Kitchn has put together 10 easy fall sangria recipes that combine the light, refreshing drink with distinctly fall flavors. I can’t wait to try the sparkling white cranberry sangria! It’s going to be perfect for a pre-Thanksgiving get-together or Christmas morning!
Love It. I love Bath & Body Works “wallflowers” home fragrances! I put them in the kitchen, living room, bathroom, & bedroom to give the rooms a constant, light fragrance. There are the classic staples, like lavender vanilla, but the seasonal scents are constantly changing. It’s an easy way to update the house for each season. My favorite for fall is the sweet cinammon pumpkin!
Want It. There are few things that I love more than curling up in front of the fire with a cup of tea & a good book during the fall. I am constantly cold during the fall & winter months, so a cozy knit throw is a necessity. It’s also an easy way to add some texture to the living room & an inexpensive way to update decor for fall.

See It. It seems counter-intuitive, but we tend to wear heavier, water/sweatproof makeup during the summer. The Zoe Report rounded up The Best Removers that Melt Off Even the Most Waterproof Makeup. The list includes a variety of cleansers that will remove everything from stubborn mascara to long-wearing foundation.
Love It. I finally splurged on a Clarisonic cleansing system during the Nordstrom Sale & I am now a believer! It is absolutely as amazing as everyone says that it is. I’ve always struggled with large pores, so I use it in the shower, after removing my makeup, to get the deep down clean that I need. I’ve noticed a difference in the pores around my nose & in the overall condition of my skin.
Want It. Even though summer is almost over, no one is ready to give up that beachy glow. Since I have such fair skin & baking in the sun isn’t an option, a good self-tanner is a must. St. Tropez’s Self-Tanning Bronzing Mousse is one of the most recommended self-tanners out there. It promises to deliver an instant bronze that lasts for up to a week.
