I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is less than a week away!  The weather here has been so crazy that it’s making it difficult to really get into the holiday spirit.  Hopefully we’ll get some fall temps soon so I can start wearing my sweaters & ponchos again!  Since the start of the holiday season is right around the corner & the holiday party invites are beginning to arrive, I thought that I would start off my gift guide series with ideas for gifts for the hostess.  I know how stressful it can be to host a holiday party, so I always like to bring a little something with me when I attend a party in someone’s home to show how much I appreciate their efforts.

Happy Groundhogs Day!  Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning, so it looks like we’ll have 6 more weeks of winter.  It’s been unusually warm here, but I feel for everyone dealing with ice & snow up north.

I cannot believe that it’s already February!  Where did January go?  We had my Krewe’s Mardi Gras Bal, which I was the chair of, last Friday night & it was a huge success!  I spent the rest of my weekend recuperating.  Since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, I’m kicking off the month with some gift ideas for guys & gals.  Guys are always so hard to shop for!  I feel like you can’t wrong with some tasty chocolate or a cozy pullover.  Cologne is always a classic choice.  For girls, I rounded up some of my favorite spring choices.  This bag is the prettiest blush color & has the cutest bow accent, it’s definitely on my wish list!  A block heel is still on trend & this cork option will be perfect with spring dresses.  Finally, these drop earrings are already everywhere & I can’t wait to snag a few colors!

Today I’m rounding up some of the best gifts for her!  I have a few of these items & would be thrilled to receive any of the others.  For the beauty junkie, a set of the cult favorite Fresh Sugar Lip Scrub flavors or IT’s full-size brushes are sure to be a hit.  The T3 Whirl interchangeable curling wand is on my list – I’ve read so many great reviews on it!  For the fashionista, bowed gloves that are tech-compatible will let her check Instagram without missing a beat.  I keep a jewelry tray, like this one, on my nightstand to corral all of my smaller pieces.  I am IN LOVE with these pink, sparkly, tassel earrings!  Seriously, I may go ahead & treat myself without waiting for Christmas.  A colorblock poncho, cableknit sweater, or fur-lined mocassins will keep her cozy at home.  I have this Kate Spade monogram necklace & wear it all the time.  It looks great by itself or layered with other gold pendants.  Finally, Chanel just released a lighter version of the classic No. 5 & I am hoping that Santa puts a bottle in my stocking!  Hint, hint!

My father is notoriously difficult to shop for, whether it’s his birthday, Christmas, or Father’s Day!  I always seem to be at a loss for something that he would enjoy, & hopefully use.  He loves to be in the kitchen & is a wonderful chef, but there are only so many kitchen gadgets out there.  A kit of grilling items, like rubs, spices, & sauces, is always a good option.  I feel like there are some gifts that any man would use, like a new wallet or leather catchall.  For the sports enthusiast, some cuff links from his favorite team are a fun way to show his team pride.
