Welcome 2020! A new year & a new decade is upon us, & I can’t lie – it’s got me all in my feelings over here. The year that Patrick & I started dating, 2011, I started collecting photographs & began making an annual photo album. Over the holidays, we went back through all 8 of them & it was so amazing to have all of the memories in such an accessible format. It really got me thinking about how far my life has come over the last decade & today I wanted to share a little bit of that.CONTINUE READING
It is Thanksgiving week friends & I am so excited to have all of the holiday foods! We were in Baton Rouge for the football game last weekend & it was pretty amazing to see Joe Burrow play. We have a low-key Thanksgiving planned & it’s going to be nice to be at home for the long weekend. I’m hoping to enjoy some family time & do some reading. I haven’t done book reviews since June, but I didn’t want to overwhelm anyone with everything I’ve read since then, so I’ve rounded up some of the best that I’ve found!CONTINUE READING
Hello friends! I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! We spent most of the weekend relaxing & I spent a good bit of it it curled up with a book, which you know if my happy place! I’m back today with a roundup of everything I read in June. As usual, it’s heavy on the thriller/mysteries, with a Jodi Piccoult thrown in for a little variety. I read two books by Alafair Burke this month, The Better Sister & The Wife, both were excellent! What are you reading right now?CONTINUE READING
Hello friends! I hope you all had a great Memorial Day & enjoyed your long weekend! I’m back today with another long round of book reviews since it’s been 2 months since I’ve done one of these. Today’s group is a mix of thrillers (because you know I can’t stay away from those) & some general fiction. I’m finding it harder & harder to be wowed by mysteries & thrillers lately, it seems like I can’t find one that truly surprises me. This group had some really great historical fiction though, like Lilac Girls & Daisy Jones. As always, I’m looking for recommendations so let me know what you’ve been reading!CONTINUE READING
I have reading up a storm lately, so this set of reviews is another long one. All in all, this was a much better set of books than my last one! I was also lucky enough to receive two pre-releases, so a big thank you to Lake Union Publishing! (I’ve noted those for reference, &, as always, any opinion is strictly my own.) Finally, if you want to keep up with what I’m currently reading at any time, I added a Goodreads widget to the sidebar! Now on to the books!
How are we already a week into 2019? The first part of a new year is always time to look back at the previous year & look forward to the year ahead. It’s a time of fresh starts & clean slates. I’ve spent some time over the last week reflecting on what 2018 brought & thinking about what I want to accomplish in the upcoming year. Today I’m excited to share my reflections on 2018 & my goals for 2019 with you!CONTINUE READING
I’m back on this lovely Wednesday with another round of book reviews! The cold temps make me want to curl up in front of the fire with a good book! This time, I’ve added in a star system to give you an idea of how the books rank compared to each other. There were some really great reads in this group (Children of Blood & Bone) & a few really not-great reads (A Simple Favor, I’m looking at you). I’ve been reading a ton lately (some amazing thrillers!), so I’m already working on the next set of reviews. If you want to keep up with what I’m reading in between these reviews, you can follow me on Goodreads! As always, I’m on the lookout for suggestions, so please leave them in the comments!
I love, love, love a good podcast! I rarely listen to music in the car anymore because there are so many great podcasts out there. It’s a wonderful way to keep up to date on the news or pop culture, learn something, be inspired, or just laugh. My taste in podcasts ranges from reality tv breakdowns to true crime. Here are some of my favorite podcasts to listen to while I’m driving, working, or working out.
Happy Monday sweet friends! I don’t have a look, or a book list, or really anything in particular to share today. While I’m not sure that anyone noticed, today I wanted to take the opportunity to have a little chat & explain why I chose to take a break from blogging & social media for the last few weeks.
