One of the hardest parts of summer style is dressing for the the drastic difference in temperature between indoors and outdoors. It is freezing in my office, year round, and temperatures outside are quickly reaching toward 100, with high humidity. The best trick I’ve found is layering. I usually pair a tank with a cardigan or jacket that I can take off anytime I step outside. This tank, from Loft, is the perfect base layer. I snagged it in every color available! These sandals (lookalikes for the Nudist) are the perfect finish for a versatile summer look.
My birthday was last week and my friends took me to dinner this weekend to celebrate! We love any excuse to get dressed up and I took full advantage this year. I saw this hot pink Marchesa Notte dress on Rent the Runway awhile back and fell in love with the bright color and sequin details! I paired it with black strappy sandals and some sparkly earrings. The dress was cute, comfy, and a huge hit!
Last weekend we had the pleasure of attending a friend’s wedding in Jackson, MS. On Saturday we met up with an old friend for breakfast & some sight-seeing. This was our first trip to Jackson & we couldn’t have had better weather for it. You can probably tell by my squinty eyes that it was bright & sunny! I paired a breezy windowpane tank with jeans & wedges since we would be spending plenty of time outdoors. Stay tuned for more information on where we stayed, ate, & visited in Jackson!
One of my goals for this year is to focus on my relationships. In keeping with that goal, we’ve decided to schedule weekly date nights. We don’t have to go anywhere special, but we put the phones away and have dinner together. I got this candy striped dress last spring and it quickly became one of my favorites. I usually add a blazer or sweater over it if we’re going out because I am always cold.
