Happy Tuesday y’all!  I hope that everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend!  My birthday is in May, both of our mothers also have birthdays in May, plus there are graduations, end of the year parties, & weddings, so it’s easy for our calendars to quickly fill up this month.  We are lucky that both of our families live nearby, so we got to spend lots of time with our mothers this weekend.

I wore this look last week for work & after-work drinks with some of my favorite lady-lawyers.  Does it get any more classic for work than a crisp white button-down & a pencil skirt?  While I have plenty of black pencil skirts in my closet, I fell in love with the little twist to this skirt from Loft – the cutest bow detail at the waist!  To add a little more pizzazz, I added some on-trend pink, block-heeled sandals from Sam Edelman.  They had been sitting in my wishlist for weeks & I could not be happier to have pulled the trigger!  Finally, let’s talk classic, white button-downs.  There’s a reason that Ann Taylor calls this the “Perfect Shirt.”  It is, indeed, the perfect button-down.  In a crisp cotton with some stretch, it comes in regular or petite, & is tailored to fit in all the right places.
