For someone who is such a beauty junkie, a have a surprisingly limited selection of lipsticks. I tend to stick with glosses or tinted chapsticks that I don’t have to reapply using a mirror because, inevitably, I will have to reapply several times a day. I also just prefer the texture of a gloss over a cream or matte lipstick. Over the last few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to test the new Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick from BITE Beauty. Made with natural monoi butter and coconut oil, the liquid lipstick promises to go on creamy, dry to a semi-glaze finish, & last all day. The Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick is available in 18 wearable shades, from a soft rose to bright poppy.
I started off each application with BITE’s Line & Define Lip Primer to prep my lips & prevent feathering. I’ve never used a lip primer before & typically don’t even use lip liner. I know, I know! The primer definitely helped prevent feathering & kept the color in place longer. It has the consistency of a waxy chapstick & goes on very smoothly to keep your lips from feeling dried out.
I tried the lipstick in three shades: Eclair, Demi Glace, & Flambe. I love how pigmented the color is, which is unusual for a liquid lipstick, but it still feels very lightweight. One coat is enough to get a true shade. I prefer this type of applicator because it allows you to get the contour of your lips more easily than tube lipsticks. The finish has a sheen to it, but isn’t sticky like some glosses can be. The colors are long-wearing, but will come off when you eat or drink.
My favorite color was the Eclair for everyday wear, it’s the perfect soft rose for my skin tone, but Flambe is a great statement red! Demi Glace is a little dark for summer wear, but I can see myself wearing it more this fall when my wardrobe transitions to darker clothing.
**I received a complimentary set of three Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipsticks & a Line & Define Lipe Primer to test and/or review. As always, all opinions expressed are entirely my own.**
