4th of July Style Inspiration

Happy almost-Friday friends! Whew! Where has June gone? I can’t believe that July is almost here! With the first week of July comes Independence Day (aka the 4th of July) & a time to celebrate our country, so today I wanted to share some of my 4th of July plans & offer up a little 4th of July style inspiration.

When you’re little, the 4th of July is all about the pool & the fireworks.  While I still enjoy those things, especially the fireworks, the 4th has become more about the time spent with friends & family.  The night before, a country club near our home has a huge fireworks show, so we get a group of friends together for dinner, then head to the gold course & sit on one of the greens to watch.  It’s a nice way to start the holidy – with good friends.  I’ve mentioned before that I have the most amazing group of girlfriends, who all live nearby, & are like family to me.  We usually get together & spend the actual holiday outdoors, at the lake or pool.  The guys will grill, while we get some sun & catch up.  Then, of course, it’s time to watch the kids shoot fireworks in the evening!  What are your 4th of July traditions?

To help you get in the mood for your own celebration, I’ve rounded up some 4th of July style inspiration for you!  You can’t wrong with a classic striped shirt, like this one in navy & white or this OTS one in red & white.  This embroidered top is one of my favorite summer pieces & it also comes in a pretty blue.  If you aren’t facing the extreme summer heat like we are, this red, white, & blue striped sweater will transition into fall perfectly.
